        Last summer, I got a call from a customer from New York who visited Dorney Park, Allentown PA. He lost his car key on a ride on a roller-coaster.

        When I arrived on the scene, I checked the door lock and the ignition lock. The door lock look was damaged. My customer announced that the lock was broken.

        When I asked him if he changed the ignition lock of his car, at anytime in the past, he answered: “Never, it is the original ignition of the car.” Ok, I replied, I can order the key code of your car, to find out the key cuts.

        I’ve verified my client’s ownership of the vehicle and sent the VIN out to get the key code and the pin code. Unlucky me, at 7:00 PM, I got a reply: “Chrysler system is down for maintenance, we’re sorry for the inconvenience.”

        I apologized to my customer and explained the situation: “Chrysler is down, we need to hold on for a while.” Then I added, “Keep heaving fun until the park is closed, we can try again, later.”

        At 11:00 PM, I got another call from my customer, asking me if I could do the key for his car. I checked with the auto codes service and found out that the Chrysler system is back in service.

        I went to my van, grabbed my headlight, and back to check the ignition. When I pointed the light on the ignition, the picture was clear. My wise customer tried to knock off the ignition with a hammer and a screwdriver. My customer played a car key replacement guy. This guy thought he could start the car with a screwdriver after breaking the ignition.

        My jaws dropped, I was in shock, he didn’t do what I thought.

        I asked him; “Have you knocked out the ignition?” He replied; “Yes”. I added; “When I came here earlier, I explained to you that your key has a computer chip.” My Customer smiled, embarrassed.
